The ultimate goal of yoga is to create comfort and ease in the body so that we may sit for meditation. Studies show that people who meditate experience:

  • Less stress
  • Less pain
  • Better sleep
  • Better concentration
  • Better immune function
  • Better memory
  • Better self-esteem
  • Greater spiritual connectedness

Eckhart Tolle once said, “One conscious breath in and out is a meditation,” meaning our meditation practice doesn’t have to be complicated or esoteric. It can be as simple as tuning into the breath, and guiding the awareness back to the present moment whenever it begins to wander. That’s the trick: never to tire of guiding the awareness back home to the present moment.
